Evenflo issues recall of 56,000 child seats due to harness problem

Miamisburg, Ohio-based children products manufacturer Evenflo Co. Inc. has recently issued a recall for 56,000 child safety seats due to the danger of children being able to loosen the seat’s safety harness, which could possibly lead to injury in an accident.

The Transitions Three-in-One Combination Booster Seats manufactured between Dec. 18, 2014 and Jan. 29, 2016 are involved in the recall due to the accessibility of the adjustment button, which releases the harness, to children. According to Evenflo, the danger of accident is only possible when the seats are used as forward-facing harnessed boosters.

Evenflo became aware of the issue in late January 2016 upon analysis of consumer feedback. The company is undergoing the process of notifying owners of the recall and sending them a kit with a new seat pad and front adjuster assembly.
