Drunk driving accident kills two children, mother

An intoxicated driver hit a family minivan in Kilgore, Texas, resulting in the death of two children and their mother, the American Bazaar reported on July 14.

According to investigations by the local police, 42-year-old Ketanbhai Patel was driving the minivan with his wife, 43-year-old Heema, and their two children, six-year-old Ryera and 12-year-old Trish in the early morning hours of July 10 when they were hit by a vehicle traveling down the wrong side of the street. The children, who were not wearing seatbelts, were killed instantly. The parents were both rushed to Good Shepherd Hospital, where Heema died of her injuries.

Shelby Taylor, 22, was allegedly driving a massive oil field truck when she struck the minivan. After being treated for injuries, she was arrested for driving intoxicated and intoxicated manslaughter.
