Direct collision in Austin kills two

At around 5:40 a.m. on June 21 along the 12000 block of West U.S. Route 290 in Austin, two vehicles collided head-on, KXAN News reported.

The accident occurred near the line between Travis and Hays County in southwest Austin. Two men, each the driver of the cars involved, died as a result of the collision, while the two passengers involved were seriously injured. The critically injured female adult was brought to the University Medical Center-Brackenridge from the accident site, while the child was immediately transported to the Dell Children’s Hospital in serious condition.

Police investigators are still in the process of sorting out the details surrounding the incident. Authorities are investigating the wide range of potential factors that could have contributed to the tragic occurrence of this fatal two-vehicle collision.
