Bus-car collision in downtown Dallas hurts seven

Seven people were rushed to the hospital after a bus and car accident on northbound Interstate 35 under E. 8th Street near downtown Dallas, Texas  on Monday, December 23. The accident occurred after 6 in the morning.

According to Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Mark Ball, four of the victims were passengers on the bus and three were riding in a red Dodge Caravan.

Ball said that the bus was heading north on Interstate 35 at the 8th Street bridge when the Dodge Caravan blocked the bus’s way by easing past it on the highway and slamming into the barrier wall, causing a “four-car and one-bus chain reaction accident. ”

Police have yet to identify the identities of the victims, their conditions, and to which hospitals they were taken.
