Fuel truck crash kills 5 Texan teens

Five teenagers were killed in a tragic truck collision with a loaded fuel tanker, north of Amarillo near Dumas on Sunday, March 10th.

According to authorities, a Chevy pickup, driven by 16-year-old Jacob Paul Stipe, with five total teens on board ignored a stop sign, causing a fuel tanker traveling on the adjacent road to hit them on the passenger side. Stipe, Derrek Lee Hager, Christopher Lee Moore, and sisters October Dawn and Elizabeth Kay Roys were killed instantly upon impact.

Ezequiel Garcia, who was driving the fuel tanker, suffered serious burns all over his body and was reportedly in critical condition.

Information as to where the kids were headed before the accident occurred has not yet been made available. However, early investigations show that alcohol was ruled out as a factor in the accident.

The devastating loss of these five young lives has affected and will continue to affect many friends and loved ones. We at the Law Offices of Mark T. Lassiter send our sincere condolences to those suffering from this tragic accident.
